Denmark-Bangladesh 50-year anniversary logo competition
‘‘50 years and growing’’
In March
2021, the Embassy of Denmark in Bangladesh launched the Denmark-Bangladesh
50-year anniversary logo competition. This logo was expected to mark the
beginning of the celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between
Denmark and Bangladesh. To commemorate the milestone, the Embassy launched the
competition inviting the public to showcase their interpretation for this
long-term partnership between the two countries.
The Embassy
received a total of 43 design entries, which was reviewed by a panel of six
staff members including H.E. Winnie Estrup Petersen. The panel chose the
winning logo for being the most reflective of the Danish design aesthetic and
an ode to Danish-Bangladeshi relations.
The upper
stroke of the logo represents the abstract form of a flower or the water lily,
which is the Bangladeshi national flower. It portrays peace, diversity, and a
blossoming friendship. The same image also represents the crown using a red
colour to represent Denmark. The lower portion of the logo or the green stroke
is inspired by the Bangladeshi flag as well as a theme of sustainability,
greener together, and the base from which friendship grows between the two
countries. The overall logo represents growth.
We congratulate to the winner Mohammed Twasin Arafat from Chattogram for winning the logo competition! The logo will be shared on the Embassy’s print and online materials developed to commemorate the special anniversary. We also thank all those who have participated in this special competition.
