Better Work - development cooperation on the factory floor

The Government of Denmark has signed agreements with the International Labour Organization (ILO) that will strengthen international cooperation in order to help ensuring that a catastrophe as Rana Plaza will not happen again. Over the next two years Denmark will contribute a total of DKK 65 million (approx. USD 11 million) to the joint ILO/World Bank Better Work programme as well as to ILO’s regular technical assistance activities.

The Better Work programme brings governments and social partners together in providing training and standard setting on the ground in the industrial sector in developing countries and fast growing economies.

Denmark is also supporting a number of other initiatives to assist Bangladesh in improving the situation.
