The Danish Government earmarks BDT 7.8 million to Action Contre la Faim (ACF) for proper food and much needed shelter to flood victims and Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

One half of the Danish contribution goes to ACF’s work for the hundreds thousands of Rohingya refugees that have crossed the border from Myanmar in recent weeks. The ACF is present on the ground providing critical food for the refugees – especially women and children. The ACF has great experience working in the area which makes them an important partner in such a grim situation.

The other half goes to the millions of Bangladeshis affected by flooding. The project is focused on providing shelter and countering malnutrition of children and women in order to prevent child mortality and morbidity. The support is mainly targeted the north western districts of Bangladesh, which are the worst affected.

Both projects are a part of the joint response plans for the massive influx of Rohingya refugees and the devastating monsoon floods.
